About Waypoint
A free, honest alternative to the job-search industry.
Here's why we built this and what we believe you're owed as a job seeker.
Founded in 2026, Waypoint Career Resources started with a simple observation: job searching is already one of the more stressful things a person goes through, and the industry built around it often makes things worse. Search for "resume help" or "unemployment benefits" and you'll find paywalled templates, "job placement" programs that deliver little, and advice so generic it could apply to any person in any field. If you're between jobs, recently laid off, or trying to make sense of a state unemployment system that seems designed to be confusing, you deserve better than a landing page trying to sell you something before it's told you anything useful.
So we built Waypoint to be the opposite. Every core article, checklist, and guide on this site is free to read, with no email wall and no countdown timer pushing you toward a purchase. When we do offer paid support — through Waypoint Plus, our optional coaching membership — it's clearly optional, clearly priced, and never required to get value from the site. We'd rather earn trust with specific, useful writing than manufacture urgency.
Why trust us
What we do differently
-
Content reviewed for accuracyArticles are checked against primary sources — like state labor department sites — before publishing, and updated when rules change.
-
No false promisesWe will never claim to place you in a job or match you with an employer. We help you get better at finding and winning roles yourself.
-
Free core content, foreverThe resource library stays free. Paid coaching is optional and clearly labeled as such.
-
Real specifics, not generic adviceWe write actual scripts, checklists, and examples — not "stay positive and network more."
